Cheltenham racegoers brave the chill with bare shoulders and daring headgear as they up the style stakes for Ladies' Day

SPRING has certainly sprung at Cheltenham race course today as racegoers hitched up their hemlines and brought out bold prints for Ladies' Day.

Day two of the races saw women arrive touting extravagant headpieces as they competed to up the style stakes.


While Ascot may have a strict dress code, Cheltenham doesn't have formal guidelines, meaning guests can opt for more daring looks to stand out from the crowd.

Attendees yesterday may have opted for a more casual country style, with tweedy outfits, women certainly upped the fashion stakes today.

Revellers could be seen pushing the fashion boundaries in a hope to catch the judges' eyes for the Best Dressed Award.

And while summer may still be a few months off many of the racegoers were prepared to brave the chill in the name of fashion.







One young lady ditched a jacket completely opting for bare shoulders as she arrived at the event.

Elsewhere women did away with tights, opting for bare legs and mini dresses at the first sight of sunshine.

Of course hats were the order of the day, with ladies aiming to top each other's sky-scraping millinery.


The guest of honour today was Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall who looked smart in a sea green coat, paired with a spotted silk dress.

Camilla is an honorary member of the Jockey Club and is a regular attendee at the Cheltenham festival.

She is expected to present the trophy today.

Among the celebrity arrivals was Charlotte Hawkins who looked typically chic in all-blue.









The Good Morning Britain star paired her an embroidered dress coat with a velvet headband complete with a fetching feather plume.

Vogue Williams made a bold statement in a pair of red trousers and a matching military coat as she head to the track today.

This year model Frankie Herbet is acting as the fashion ambassador for the event and has shared a style guide with fellow racegoers.
