WE may not have much experience with veneers – but we all know they can cost an absolute fortune.
So it's understandable why some would want to cut a few corners to get the perfect smile.
But let's just say, you're going to get what you paid for when you order fake teeth on Amazon.
One woman who knows a little something about this is 30-year-old Sara Hamilton – who paid £4 for a pair of veneers she'd seen advertised on the site.
In Sara's defence, the fake teeth had racked up dozens of rave reviews and promised to fix her problem teeth "in minutes" due to their "one-size-fits-all" design.
The mum, from Bolton, has type one diabetes and was after a quick fix to disguise her damaged teeth.
She said: "My teeth have been damaged due to my sugars being uncontrolled which has made me feel self-conscious so I wanted to get some clip-in veneers for everyday use.
"They were only cheap so it wasn't a great loss and the reviews were good so I thought I may as well try my luck. I just wanted to be able to smile!
Needless to say, what arrived in the post looked VERY different from the pristine pearly whites that had been advertised.
Recalling the moment she opened the parcel, Sara said: "They were so white and huge – I was in hysterics when I put them in my mouth."
The product description instructs customers to soften their veneers – like you would a mouth guard – with hot water and cutting off any excess.
After adjusting the fake teeth, she added: "I couldn't even close my mouth never mind talk!
"I shared the photo with my friends who were all laughing too – it was brilliant.
"It's safe to say, I won't be wearing them in public. Unless it is Halloween…"
