Stacey Solomon makes tealight candles out of old shells and it’s surprisingly easy

STACEY Solomon has shown how to make tealight candles out of old shells – using the scented wax from a broken candle.

The Loose Women presenter, 30, showed off her DIY skills once again using shells she collected on her last holiday.

Posting on her Instagram stories yesterday, the mum-of-three showed off her simple technique for transforming the sea shells.

Stacey did the hack during a few spare minutes while her partner Joe Swash took their son Rex, who turned one on Saturday, out for a walk.

Stacey said: "Hoe (Joe) has taken the pickle out for a walk… I'm going to make some shell candles.

"I broke my favourite candle so saved the wax. Hopefully this will work. I realise these will be the smallest candles in the world."

Stacey simply melted the wax on the hob and pipetted it into the makeshift moulds, after cutting down some wicks and gluing them onto the candles.

Stacey was impressed with the flatter bases, but says she needed an extra trick to finish off the curly shapes.

She said: "The curly shells didn't work AT ALL so I had to use some lemon skins. Don't want to waste any.

"These are all shells we collected on our last holiday and my favourite candle.

"They will be the quickest burning candles in history but I love them.

"Loads of you saying if I keep them in the freezer they'll burn for longer so I'm going to pop them in there…"

Earlier this weekend, Stacey gave her hanging egg chair a summery makeover using fake flowers & ivy and it couldn’t be easier to copy.
