A&E Network announced three new projects honoring country music icons Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers with specials premiering this spring.
An all-star concert, titled Willie Nelson: American Outlaw, will premiere on April 12, paying tribute to his seven-decade long career through emotional performances, interviews and behind the scenes concert footage.
The two-hour special concert in Nashville will feature an incredible line up of performers including George Strait, Jimmy Buffett, Chris Stapleton, Dave Matthews, Eric Church, Sheryl Crow, Vince Gill and Norah Jones.
“Biography: Dolly” premieres the same day, exploring the life and five-decade career of the songwriter and performer who has influenced generations of country and pop artists.
The two-hour documentary features interviews with Lily Tomlin, Chris Stapleton, Jane Fonda, Kylie Minogue and other friends and fellow musicians.
“Biography: Kenny Rogers” premieres on April 13. It features live performances and behind-the-scenes moments from his 2107 farewell concert.
The two-hour documentary also features exclusive photos, an interview and acoustic performance by Rogers as well as interviews with family and fellow luminaries.
