Tom Hanks has revealed how he and his wife Rita Wilson passed the time in self-isolation this past week.
The pair tested positive for COVID19 last week in Australia for forthcoming Elvis Presley biopic and said he started experiencing symptoms of the virus.
And after being discharged from the hospital on Monday, Tom has now updated his fans on what he and Rita have been up to.
Sharing a picture of a typewriter, the 63-year-old wrote: "Hey folks. Good news: One week after testing Positive, in self-isolation, the symptoms are much the same. No fever but the blahs.”
The actor revealed that despite the progress, daily chores such as laundry have been more challenging than usual.
He explained: ”Folding the laundry and doing the dishes leads to a nap on the couch.”
But the pair clearly know how to have fun together, as the Forrest Gump actor revealed he and Rita played Gin Rummy to pass the time.
He said: "Bad news: My wife has won 6 straight hands of Gin Rummy and leads by 201 points. But I have learned not to spread my Vegemite so thick."
The card game that sees both players collect cards into melds and have as little deadwood as possible at the end of a game.
And Tom’s Vegemite comment comes after his previous health update picture showed a pieces of toast with a little too much of the popular Aussie spread on top, sparking a massive divide of opinions on social media.
Making a joke about his typewriter, which has the brand name Corona printed on it, he added: "I travelled here with a typewriter, one I used to love. We are all in this together. Flatten the curve. Hanx"
Tom announced that he and Rita tested positive last week.
He said in a statement: "Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too.
"To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for Coronavirus, and were found to be positive.
"Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed.
"We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?
"We’ll keep the world posted and updated. Take care of yourselves! Hanx!"
