HGTVs Christina Haack, Ant Anstead finalize divorce 9 months after separating

It’s officially over for Christina Haack and Ant Anstead.

The television personalities, who announced their separation in September, finalized their divorce on Monday, Haack’s represenative Cassie Zebisch confirmed to USA TODAY. The news comes nine months after they announced they were separating.

Haack, host of her HGTV show “Christina on the Coast,” first shared that the couple was splitting a year after they welcomed a child together.

In a now-deleted Instagram post from September, the HGTV star wrote that she and Anstead, former host of the British car show “Wheeler Dealers,” had “made the difficult decision to separate.”

“We are grateful for each other and as always, our children will remain our priority,” she said. “We appreciate your support and ask for privacy for us and our family as we navigate the future.”

A week later, Anstead also spoke out about their breakup on Instagram.

“Anyone who really knows me knows that I don’t like to share private matters publicly,” he wrote. “I have remained silent while holding on to hope. I never gave up on us. I pray Christina’s decision brings her happiness.”

Since the split, both stars have opened up about moving forward and co-parenting 1-year-old Hudson.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight this month, Haack said she is “focusing on the kids and work and just having fun.” She added: “My goal is just to move on and not take things so seriously.”

Anstead also talked about the divorce this month in an interview with People.

“When my divorce went through, I packed up my clothes and moved. I walked away completely and left everything there,” Anstead said.

He initially moved into a small rental apartment and has since moved into a house, an experience that made him realize “what’s important,” he shared.

“I don’t need anything but Hudson and my health,” he told the magazine. “All of a sudden, I just had this overwhelming sense of gratitude.”

Haack and Anstead married in a surprise ceremony at their Newport Beach home in December 2018. In May 2019, Haack told USA TODAY that she was excited to start a family with Anstead after experiencing “love at first sight.”

Both have children from previous marriages: Haack and her “Flip or Flop” co-host Tarek El Moussa were married from 2009 to 2018 and have two children: daughter Taylor, 10, and son Brayden, 5. Anstead has a son Archie, 14, and daughter Amelie, 17, with his ex-wife, Louise.
