James Martin: Saturday Morning star left ‘broken’ by death of chef and friend Michel Roux

James Martin, 47, paid tribute to legendary chef Michel Roux, who has died at the age of 79.

The TV presenter described the French-born chef as a “legend”, and praised his close friend for his support and advice over the years.

Michel’s family released a statement today confirming his death.

It read: “It is with deep sadness that the Roux family announces the passing of our beloved grandfather, father, brother and uncle, Michel Roux OBE.”

An emotional James added: “Michel I love you, always have and always will..

“Take care my friend and I will see you soon…”
