John Legend, Lady A, The Killers & More To Perform During ‘Macy’s 4th Of July Fireworks Spectacular’

John Legend, Lady A and The Killers are among artists set to perform during the 44th annual “Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular.”

The annual Independence Day event, to be hosted by “Today” anchor Craig Melvin, will be aired live from New York City. The Black Eyed Peas, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley and national youth poet laureate Amanda Gorman will also perform during the event, according to an announcement by NBC.

According to a press release, this year’s event is being “reimagined as a series of neighborhood shows” through the city’s five boroughs due to social distancing norms practiced amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced last week that the traditional fireworks display will forego its usual location in favor of a reimagined series of five-minute shows done across the city’s five boroughs leading up to the Fourth of July.

The telecast will include footage captured of each display from the week, culminating in Saturday night’s (July 4) grand finale.

The event will air Saturday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. An encore presentation of the event will follow from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET.
