Love Island’s Dr Alex George sobs as little girl thanks NHS staff with sweet drawing amid coronavirus

Dr Alex George has shared an adorable drawing made by a little girl who wanted to thank the NHS staff amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The 29 year old, who has been working tirelessly to combat the deadly bug, posted a photo of the child's artwork on his Instagram page.

Emma, the artist, showed off her growing talents by drawing Alex in his signature blue uniform, complete with a stethoscope around his neck.

Touched by the gesture, the Love Island star, who recently revealed he's become "conscious" of his weight, captioned it: "This was made by a lovely little girl who wanted to say thank you to NHS staff for their fight against the coronavirus," with a blue heart emoji.

"Needless to say I have been sobbing away at how cute this is," he continued with a crying emoji, before adding: "We are in this together. Lets do this".

He ended it by thanking the child as he said: "Thank you little Emma this has made my day x".

Many of his 1.3 million followers were quick to comment on the post as one person wrote: "Absolutely adorable this is everything thank you to you and everyone on the front line for all you do." [sic]

Another said: "Awww that’s really cute!! Little things just make everything better xx". [sic]

A third chimed: "Awww that is so cute. Well done to you and the NHS. You are all truly brilliant".

While a fourth added: "Absolutely beautiful. Keep up the amazing work," with a kissing emoji.

It comes as Alex's girlfriend Amelia Bath recently paid a sweet tribute to her doctor boyfriend while he works on the frontlines.

The Ibiza Weekender dancer, 25, who's been dating the reality star for about a year, took to her Instagram feed to say how proud she is of Alex.

Sharing a snap on the social media page, which sees the pair's silhouettes on a sunny patch of sand, she captioned it: "This afternoon I painted a mirror in the sunshine whilst drinking wine and listening to the Beach Boys."

Comparing her daily activities amid the current lockdown to her significant other's battle against the deadly bug, she continued: "Meanwhile, Alex ran around Lewisham hospital treating Covid-19 patients.

"I’m so proud of him and I’m endlessly grateful for all the NHS staff and key workers who are working tirelessly during such uncertain times," with a blue heart emoji.
