Rapper Nick Blixky dies aged 21 after shooting

Rapper Nick Blixky has died at the age of 21 after being fatally shot.

In a statement to Metro.co.uk the New York Police Department confirmed the artist – real name Nickalus Thompson – was found by police following a 911 call to Winthrop street, near Prospect Lefferts Gardens in Brooklyn.

‘On Sunday, May 10, 2020, at approximately 2126 hours, police responded to a 911 call of a male shot…’ the statement read.

It added: ‘Upon arrival, officers found an unconscious and unresponsive 21-year-old male, with gunshot wounds to his torso and buttocks.

‘EMS also responded to the scene and transported the individual to NYC Health & Hospitals/Kings County, where he was pronounced deceased.

‘There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.’

The star was set to release his first mixtape, Different Timin, next month.

Unverified footage has emerged online, filmed by an alleged witness reportedly in the aftermath, with two police cars seen stopped in the middle of an intersection, with lights flashing, as they inspected the scene.

Officers are seen walking around a body, while someone says in the background: ‘He look like he dead. Seven times he got shot.’

Nick’s last Instagram was posted just a couple of hours before his death.

In it, he excitedly shared the promo cover for his new mixtape, captioning it: ‘JUNE 3RD I’m dropping my first Tape ever LOCK IN THE DATE DIFFERENT TIMIN ( COMMENT A IF YOU READYYYY) #BG4L#HOMETEAM#TWIRLWITME.’

Tributes immediately began pouring in on social media from shocked fans who were emotional at the sudden death of the promising star.
