  • WIL HE STAY?

Arsenal and Spurs target Willian has dealt Chelsea a blow after admitting he could leave this summer.

The Brazilian winger, 31, is out of contract at the end of the season and wants a three-year deal to remain at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to ESPN Brazil he said: “I still don’t know. There’s nothing with any other team. There’s no offer from any team. My negotiation for now is with Chelsea. There’s still nothing concrete from any team.

“And the situation with Chelsea is still that way. They offered me two, I demanded three, and it stopped there.

“There’s nothing much. I always like to make it very clear the respect I have for this club, the affection I have.

“Regardless of my situation, one thing I can say: I’ll always try to do my best, give my best on the pitch for this team. There’s really no offer from any club.”

  • PEP TALK

Pep Guardiola admits he would rather the season is put on hold than play games behind closed doors due to the coronavirus.

He said: “We are conscious of it because it has happened already in Italy. The league is suspended, in Spain the next two weeks are behind closed doors.

“It is going to happen here. The tendency rises at the same level as Italy before and in Spain right now. The other issue you have to ask is it worse to play football without the spectators.

“We do our job for the people and if the people cannot come to watch us, there is no sense. I would not love to play matches in the Premier League or Champions League or the cups without the people.

“But we are going to follow the instructions of the governments. Everybody around the world is involved in that and we just follow what we have to do and follow the instructions. “

  • WIL OF FORTUNE

Arsenal, Spurs and Bayern Munich are all reportedly keen to snap up Willian on a free transfer.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the trio are all eyeing up a move for the Brazilian who will be out of contract in the summer.

The Blues are keen to tie him up to a new two-year deal, though Willian has demanded a three-year extension.

Willian, 31, has not yet been offered his terms, and he is free to speak to clubs outside of the Premier League.

  • WHITE NOISE

Arsenal have reportedly joined the race to sign Ben White following his impressive loan spell with Leeds from Brighton

The Brighton defender, 22, has also attracted interest from Liverpool, Manchester United and Leicester City.

According to Football Insider, the Gunners are keeping tabs on White as they prepare for a summer swoop.

White has exceeded expectations since he joined Marcelo Bielsa's side on a season-long loan in July 2019.

The 22-year-old has played every single minute of Leeds' Championship campaign this term after making 37 starts.

  • PIECES OF HATE

Arsenal's biggest weakness is defending set-pieces, according to Olympiacos boss Pedro Martins.

The Greek side knocked the Gunners out of the Europa League last month and the Portuguese has revealed how his side exploited a weakness.

Both Olympiacos goals – from Pape Abou Cisse and Youssef Al-Arabi – in the second leg at the Emirates came from set-pieces and earned the Greeks a 2-1 win on the night to go through on away goals.

Martins told the Athletic: “Set pieces are always important. In this kind of match, you must be efficient when you have a chance.

“We watched many games and we almost saw the weakness.

“Most importantly, we saw what is standard in how the team operates… against that weakness, we tried to work our plan.”
