JOTA: WE GOTTA FINISH
Jota believes the Premier League will resume this season – and should do so because of its “major” place in world football.
Despite the Dutch top-flight finishing early and Belgium heading the same way, the Wolves striker told the BBC: “Each country has its own problems and has to deal with them individually.
“Although some leagues can end right away, others can start sooner.
“I know almost every country in the world has the Premier League as one of the leagues to watch so it is major that we can finish the season.
“Obviously health is first and when everything is ready to go we can finish the season.”
Frank Lampard has made contact with Napoli's Dries Mertens as he looks to bolster his attack, according to reports.
The Chelsea boss will make it a priority to improve his front line this summer as he looks to close the gap on Liverpool and Manchester City.
Italian publication Gianluca Di Marzio says Lampard has already made direct contact with the player to assess whether he would be interested in a switch across Europe.
Mertens, 32, has yet to decide his future with his contract at Napoli expiring in the summer.
While it has been revealed that Chelsea enquired about signing Neymar when he was 17 years old.
The Brazilian star's former agent Wagner Ribiero confirmed the Blues were serious about bringing the PSG superstar to Stamford Bridge in 2010.
He told AS: “There were many calls for him. I received an official offer from Chelsea the day Neymar debuted with the Brazilian team in 2010.
“They made an offer, we studied it, but in the end we didn’t decide anything. On that occasion, we transferred it to Neymar’s father and the player himself.”
And Chelsea are on red alert after goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen's contract renewal talks with Barcelona have reportedly stalled.
The German wants to stay at the Nou Camp but he and his agent Gerd vom Bruch feel that he deserves a salary in line with his importance to the team, amid claims that other Barca players who have played under half the minutes of the 27-year-old are earning more.
According to Sport, the Blues and Premier League rivals Manchester City would be the biggest contenders for his signature.
