DEAR DEIDRE: I’VE developed a gambling habit thanks to my husband playing on his Xbox all day.
We’re in our early thirties and have been together for two years.

At first we spent all our spare time together, either with our kids or just the two of us.
He has a son from his first marriage who is nine and I have a daughter aged seven who spends her weekends with her dad.
The problem started when my husband bought an Xbox for the family. His son loved it but not half as much as his dad.
He plays on it all the time and our sex life has gone through the floor.
I felt so alone I started to gamble online. Now I’m hooked.
DEIDRE SAYS: He may be neglecting you but your gambling is not his fault.
For your sake and the sake of your children, at least, take responsibility for your gambling habit and find help to quit.
You can find support through GamCare (gamcare.org.uk, 0808 8020 133).
Then you will be in a better place to help your husband understand how his behaviour affects you and can work through these issues together.
