KFC closes seating areas and goes Drive Thru and takeaway only due to coronavirus

FRIED chicken chain KFC has closed the seating areas in its 850 UK branches due to coronavirus.

The temporary new measures have been brought in to help stop the spread of the deadly bug.

In a message to shoppers on social media the fast food chain confirmed the plans.

It's also asking customers to pay using contactless cards and upping the regularity of cleaning its restaurants.

Customers can still order food through its Drive Thurs or takeaway and delivery services.

It follows similar moves by McDonald's and Greggs, which have gone takeaway only too.

Yesterday, Ikea confirmed it was closing all its UK stores.

While TKMaxx confirmed its shops would also be closing for the foreseeable future.

Shoppers have been sharing pictures and videos of how restaurants and shops are implementing social distancing rules.

Tesco and McDonald's have marked out boxes on their floors to ensure customers stand far enough apart.

Brits have been encouraged to socially distance from friends and family, as well as staying away from pubs and restaurants in order to stop coronavirus spreading.
