Megan Thee Stallion said Wednesday she was shot leading up to Tory Lanez’s arrest over gun charges last weekend, and clarified that she herself was “never arrested.”
“This whole experience was an eye opener and a blessing in disguise,” the “Savage” rapper wrote on Instagram on Wednesday. “I hate that it took this experience for me to learn how to protect my energy.”
Megan, 25, revealed that she was actually the target of the attack, and suffered gunshot wounds as a result of a “crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me.”
She explained in the lengthy Instagram post, “I was never arrested, the police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets. I’m incredibly grateful to be alive and that I’m expected to make a full recovery, but it was important for me to clarify the details about this traumatic night.”
The “Hot Girl Summer” rapper added that she is “focused” on her recovery so she can “return back to my life and back to making music as soon as possible.”
According to TMZ, LAPD responded to a call of multiple gunshots reported outside of a party that Megan and Lanez, 27, were attending on Sunday at around 4:30 a.m.
Police pulled over Lanez’s SUV and found a gun, which is why he was booked for carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle.
