Mum blown away by Aldi shopper’s toilet roll gesture amid coronavirus crisis

The coronavirus pandemic has sparked supermarket chaos.

As some selfish shoppers have hoarded way more products than they need, others have been struggling to find essential items.

Toilet paper has become one of the products that’s low in stock.

And fights have broken out over loo roll.

All of this news makes it difficult to have faith in humanity – but thankfully, there are still some shoppers out there who are being considerate.

On the Aldi Mums Facebook group, a parent thanked a stranger for helping her to get bog roll during the crisis.

Her post reads: “Just want to say a massive THANK YOU to a really nice lady.

“I went to the Aldi this morning for the usual grocery shop and the lines were crazy with people waiting to get toilet paper.

“Shop opens, people rush in and I stroll in as I have my four-month-old strapped to me in a carrier.

“The crowd around toilet paper was crazy and to save me and my son, a complete stranger gave me her packet.

“She then went back in to fight the crowd again.”

The post concludes: “Like I said, I only went for my normal shop and there are full toilet paper crazy people out.

“This beautiful lady helped me before herself and I am so thankful for it.

“The little acts of kindness make a person’s day.”

It wasn’t just the mum who was warmed by the stranger’s gesture.

Facebook users praised the act of kindness, with 3,800 of them liking the story.

Many also took the time to leave a comment – with dozens saying it’s nice to read good news amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

One responder said: “It’s bringing the worst out of all. Glad to hear some positives.”

Another wrote: “Yep that is what we are supposed to be like! Not this complete madness. Bless her heart.”

And a third added: “What a beautiful gesture amongst the chaos.

“I hope kindness will continue to prevail in the hard times.”
