He’s always been a worrier and was struggling to sleep.
I didn’t mind as he would only do it once or twice a week – when he really needed some rest.
But since we found out we’re expecting again, he’s been smoking more.
He’s also drinking more. Most nights he needs cannabis and a couple of beers to get to sleep.

DEIDRE SAYS: It sounds as though your husband is struggling to cope with the responsibility of being a parent.
Encourage him to speak to his GP and ask to be referred for cognitive behavioural therapy which will teach some coping techniques.
Explain to your husband you’re worried about his health and the example he’s setting. This may give him the push he needs.
Also you can approach Adfam (adfam.org.uk) who support families of drug users.
