Northern Ireland

ASSISTANT Editor Claire Frost and partner Steve checked into Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort.

The Pad Sitting in a 163-acre oasis 40 minutes’ north of Belfast, with the River Maine running through its pretty grounds, Galgorm is a haven of tranquillity.

Rooms have queen-sized beds, Aromatherapy Associates products and complimentary beer and wine in your mini bar.

The Spa Hit the Thermal Village for pools, saunas and steam rooms, as well as outdoor Jacuzzis.

The Forest Therapy Experience, £190 per person, is the ultimate indulgence.

Snooze your way through a blissful head-to-toe body massage, before enjoying a posh picnic and cocktails in a private hot tub beside the river.

After a full day exploring the spa, the price also includes a two-course dinner.

Refuel There are four restaurants on-site.

Afterwards, pick one of the hotel’s 468 gins, from £5.65, at the Conservatory bar.

Breakfast is also fab – we loved the Eggs Benedict.

Don’t miss 45 minutes’ drive north on the tip of Northern Ireland’s coast is the jaw-dropping Giant’s Causeway.

Walk the circular 3km cliff path for epic views, before picking your way through its iconic stones.

Entry costs £12.50 (Nationaltrust.org.uk/giants-causeway).

In its cosy signature rooms expect coastal blues, rope mirrors and comfy cream bedding, plus a Nespresso machine and chunky cookies to snack on.

The Spa With a pool, hot tub, steam room, sauna and solarium, you can easily spend a day hopping between experiences and getting your lengths in.
