I love our elderly residents and have always enjoyed hearing what they’ve done in their lives. I take pride in what I do.
But we have new management and the residents’ wellbeing seems to come second to making money.
The food hygiene practices are terrible.
Residents were recently served chicken that had been de-frosted two weeks earlier.
I walked into the kitchen with a tray yesterday to see the manager blowing on some ham that she’d dropped on the floor, and she put it back in a sandwich.
The families think their relatives are being looked after well, but somebody will die of salmonella soon and I don’t want to be part of it.

Inform the head or actual owner of the home about what is going on. Put it in writing too.
If bad practice remains, report your concerns to the Food Standards Agency, food.gov.uk.
