The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has had a substantial, prolonged impact on every-day life — and not just in sports.
In particular, the issue of food insecurity has skyrocketed due to necessitated quarantining and social distancing guidelines. That’s why Michael Rubin, part owner of the 76ers and founder of Fanatics, has created the “All In Challenge:” a digital fundraising effort that incentivizes donations by offering “once-in-a-lifetime experiences” from sports, music and entertainment figures as potential prizes.
Per the All In Challenge website:
“Food insecurity is a mounting issue but never more important than during COVID-19 and the unprecedented shortage of food resources our nation is facing. Among those most in need: students who rely on currently closed schools for several of their meals each week; the newly unemployed who are facing uncertain circumstances; and a vulnerable elderly population sequestered in their homes without access to food.
“Through the newly created ALL IN Challenge, sponsored by the All In Challenge Foundation, the world’s preeminent sports, music and entertainment figures will donate their most prized possessions and be challenged to create once-in-a-lifetime experiences that will be both available for online auction and as giveaways.”

What is the All In Challenge?
The All In Challenge is a digital fundraising effort, one that “aims to be the world’s largest digital fundraiser in history by raising tens of millions of dollars” and that means to battle food insecurity brought on or exacerbated by COVID-19. According to the site, 100 percent of the proceeds will go to Feeding America, Meals On Wheels, World Central Kitchen and No Kid Hungry.
To become eligible for a prize, consumers need only select their preferred prize of choice on the site and enter an amount to donate. By donating as little as $10, you are automatically eligible to win one of several preferred “enter to win” prizes. However, you can also donate specific amounts in auctions for several more preferred prizes. Consumers can choose an “all in” option to enter in more than one drawing.

How long is the All In Challenge running?
The Challenge, which kicked off on Tuesday, will run “until we reach our goal of tens of millions of dollars for COVID-19 relief efforts,” per the All In website.
