Are Paddy and Chas going to break up in Emmerdale?

Tonight’s episode of Emmerdale (June 22) will see Chas struggling to cope during lockdown with the pub shut due to coronavirus.

But Paddy – who's too busy drinking the cellar dry – fails to notice that Chas is feeling isolated and unhappy.

Later, the pair find themselves reflecting on their lives after clapping for key workers.

Paddy then announces that he has plans for them both – but will Chas be happy with what he has to say?

With Emmerdale yet to confirm what's in store for the couple, fans will have to tune in to find out whether Paddy puts his foot in it once and for all and finds himself dumped.

Why are Paddy and Chas already at rock bottom in Emmerdale?

Emmerdale fans know that Paddy’s huge parenting blunder – leaving baby Eve alone in the car – drove a huge wedge between him and Chas back in March.

After Chas revealed his error to the whole pub as punishment, Paddy began suffering from crippling anxiety.

Chas was stunned when Aaron Dingle, Bear Wolf and Eric Pollard revealed how much he’s been struggling to cope.

What has Dominic Brunt said about Paddy’s relationship in Emmerdale?

Speaking about how his character Paddy is coping during lockdown, Dominic Brunt — who plays Paddy — told Metro.co.uk: "He’s working with animals and on emergency call out. He’s been doing the farms and helping with lambing and calving.

"They also have the run of The Woolpack now it’s empty."

Speaking about the tension between Paddy and Chas, Dominic added: "Chas has had the bulk of the childcare and is, to some degree, more isolated than he is. He’s also not very aware of others feelings and he’s clumsy emotionally. He’s still a bit of a puppy and not very worldly so he misses the subtleties of people’s emotions.

He added: "As usual he doesn’t read the signs straight away and should have seen Chas was unhappy months ago. I just hope he’s not too late.

"I think he’ll do everything in his power to save his marriage. He loves her and he loves Eve."
