AUGUST Alsina revealed he gave “courtesy calls” before telling his “truth” about the alleged “years-long affair” he had with Jada Pinkett Smith.
The 27-year-old singer spoke out for the first time after the Girls Trip actress, 48, denied husband Will Smith “gave permission” for their rumored romance.
The New Orleans musician spilled his heart out in a length Instagram caption that was written alongside a picture with Jada.
Though he does not mention Will or Jada’s name in the post, it appears to be a direct reference to the shocking claims he made this week as he included a snap with the star.
August has his arm wrapped around the Red Table Talk host as they sit close together on a couch.
He wrote: ”I get it; not only do i get it but I'm also sorry you feel that way.
“BUT, The only attack here is against the invisible walls of silent societal construct and 'code' we place upon each other & upon ourselves hidden behind the desires of others approval & acceptance."
The No Love songwriter continued: “Truth & Transparency makes us uncomfortable, yes, but i can’t apologize for that.
“A tower of truth can never fall, only a tower of lies can do that. My truth is MY truth, & its mine to own.
“There is no right or wrong here, it simply just IS. & I make room and have acceptance for your thoughts and opinions, regardless if I agree or not, you have that freedom to feel.”
August concluded the candid post by saying he gave those involved a heads up before speaking to the public.
"That being said i should also say that, no one was side swiped by any conversation.
“Everyone got courtesy calls time in advance. Wishing Everyone Big Love,” he insisted.
Earlier this week, he made the jaw-dropping claims that Will, 51, gave him his “blessing” to pursue a relationship with Jada.
August said during an interview with radio host Angela Yee: "I actually sat down with Will [Smith] and had a conversation due to the transformation from their marriage to life partnership … he gave me his blessing.”
What to know about Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith’s ‘open’ marriage
Jada Pinkett has denied that she encouraged husband Will Smith to have an open relationship in the past.
In 2003, rumors sparked that Jada and Will had an open marriage.
She stated in an interview: "I've always told Will, 'You can do whatever you want as long as you can look at yourself in the mirror and be okay'.
Because at the end of the day, Will is his own man. I'm here as his partner, but he is his own man."
August Alsina, 27, is a rapper from New Orleans who has been friends with son Jaden Smith since 2015, and reportedly met Jada through him.
He claimed that Will gave him permission to hook up with Jada after his marriage to her "transformed" into what he described as a non-romantic "life partnership."
“I actually sat down with Will [Smith] and had a conversation. He gave me his blessing,” the singer said.
The up and coming music star added: "I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life, and I truly and really, really deeply love and have a ton of love for her.
"I devoted myself to it, I gave my full self to it — so much so to the point that I can die right now and be okay with knowing that I truly gave myself to somebody."
However, a spokesperson for Will, 51, has told The Sun Online that the accusations are “wrong.”
Meanwhile, Jada's representatives have insisted the claims are "absolutely not true" in response to Page Six.
August formed a friendship with the family in 2015 after being introduced by 21-year-old son Jaden.
He even accompanied the famous clan on holiday to Hawaii in 2016, as well as attended the 2017 BET Awards with the mum-of-two.
Jada and Will met in 1994 and got engaged just two years later, welcoming their son, Jaden, into the world in 1999.
They also had daughter Willow in 2000 but by 2004, speculation began to swirl that there was trouble in paradise for the couple.
Jada previously revealed during an episode of Red Table Talk that there have been betrayals of the heart between the two but that she chose to stay.
