Coronation Street fans think they have worked out who is behind Max’s catfish scandal.
On Monday night, viewers of the ITV soap saw Max Turner’s virtual relationship with his new girlfriend, Sonya, develop into something more sinister.
He had been messaging ‘Sonya’ online for weeks, but the couple were set to meet for a date when she asked him for a picture of his ‘whole package’ to know what to expect.
Max is slightly shocked, but he decides to go along with it and send the nude photo.
As the couple sat down for their long-awaited date, Sonya revealed that she had never received any messages from Max including that private photo.
Moments later, the teenagers realise that someone has set them up and Max receives a text message that demands he pays them £1,000 otherwise his naked picture will be released.
Despite the blackmailing twist, many fans believe they have already worked out who is the catfish as Max has made some enemies.
Fans flocked to Twitter to suggest the culprit could be Amy, as he spiked her drink earlier in the year.
“So obviously it’s Amy,” one viewer wrote, as another added: “But Max kind of earned this with his upskirting.”
"IN FACT, I would have preferred if Asha/Amy/Summer had conspired to teach him a lesson."
A third questioned: "Don't think it's his mates. Could it actually be Sonya? Amy getting revenge? Asha?"
As a fourth suggested: "Danial had spent months planning his revenge on Max lol!!"
Paddy Bever, 15, who plays Max on the soap, has admitted this storyline will be a “turning point” for his character.
On the British Soap Awards red carpet, the actor said: “"I think it was very important to me to be very focused and to get it very right because this genuinely affects so many people."
He added: "I even know tens of people this has happened to at a very young age and it really does happen. What could make someone more vulnerable than a photo of that? I don't know. I think it's a turning point, I really do."

Paddy also revealed that the storyline would be different from Asha’s, as the focus is Max grappling with toxic masculinity.
"With Max's, you're going to see it from more of a male perspective and you're going to see a lot of toxic masculinity,” he continued, “a lot of bravado and a lot of fear that I think Max feels quite ashamed of because this kind of thing itself – he's 15 – but because he's a boy, his mates are boys, it's a very different situation.
"I did a lot of research into the new laws that have come about more recently and sort of where Max's head would be at. Because he's a 15-year-old with a laptop.
“I think when I spoke to lots of people that have been affected by this, it's genuinely horrifying to see this epidemic. It really is an epidemic."
