Dancing On Ice fans cry conspiracy and claim Joe Swash won because of ITV job

Some Dancing On Ice fans are crying conspiracy theory as they claim Joe Swash won the job because of his ITV job.

Former EastEnders star Joe came out on top on the ITV skating contest last night, beating Diversity's Perri Kiely to the crown.

But some critics are claiming that the show was fixed to ensure that he won.

And people reckon the winner was hand-picked by bosses because both Joe and his girlfriend, Loose Women presenter Stacey Solomon, work for the broadcaster.

After last night's result, people took to Twitter to share their theories.

One posted: "So the winner and his partner both work for @ITV and people still think its not fixed?"

Another wrote: "A blind man's dog would tell you that #Perri was by far the better skater and most deserving winner.."

While another complained: "Well that was fixed wasn't it. Perri does a backflip and smashes the Bolero. Fits in with with ITV as that dopey Joe & his girlfriend are on the payroll. Perri, you were f***ing robbed."

And another tweeted: "How the hell does Joe win?? Perri gave us a masterclass through the whole series and doesn't win!!!

"It's obviously fixed, just cant believe what I have just witnessed, who checks the votes, coz there needs to be a recount".

But ITV denied the claims, reminding people that the winner of the show is chosen by a public vote.

An ITV spokesperson told Mirror Online: "The final of Dancing On Ice was a public vote and the winner was chosen by the viewers."

Joe was crowned winner of ITV's I'm A Celebrity in 2008, and Stacey won in 2010.

They've both also worked on its spin-off show Extra Camp.

Stacey, of course, rose to fame on X Factor in 2009, and is now a regular on the Loose Women panel.

Joe still works with the broadcaster, regularly presenting competition and showbiz segments for its daytime programmes.

Last night, he was crowned champion of Dancing On Ice as proud girlfriend Stacey watched on from the audience with their baby son, Rex.
