There are some dramatic weeks and months ahead in Emmerdale with new arrivals, old grudges and health crisises dominating the action as winter turns to spring.
Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) are finding things difficult to cope with as they handle Vanessa’s diagnosis in very different ways. Charity is not prepared with the prospect of losing Vanessa but Vanessa herself is trying to be practical and draws up a will. And when she heads in for her operation, Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh) rushes to be by her side. But as the torment drives a rift between Vanessa and Charity, will they be strong enough to endure this together? There are some rocky moments ahead – can their love defeat all?
Elsewhere, the menace that is DI Malone (Mark Womack) is just beginning when it comes to his reign of terror in Emmerdale as Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) find out to their peril. And when Cain hatches a risky plan to try and destroy Malone, it could be something he lives to regret. And the wider village should be very worried about the corrupt cop too as Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) and Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) are drawn into the ever complicated web. It soon becomes clear that Malone is capable of anything – and for the first time, we could see Cain truly out of his depth.
Speaking of being out of her depth, Andrea Tate (Anna Nightingale) is determined to take on Kim (Claire King) and expose the truth about her hit on Graham – and she thinks she is being clever as she hatches a trap to bring down her wicked mother-in-law. But is she forgetting who she is dealing with here? Kim has been known to get out of many a situation – and then make those who have crossed her pay. Elsewhere, Andrea may have other problems as the chemistry between Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) and Jamie Tate (Alexander Lincoln) continues to sizzle – but where does his heart lie?
As Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) continues to struggle with the aftermath of his prison ordeal, it leads to a reckless situation for Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt), who leaves Eve unattended, only for her to go missing. Luckily, she is returned to Paddy and Chas (Lucy Pargeter) – but when social services get involved, could they face losing her? And can Chas forgive Paddy for his big mistake?
In other village developments, there’s a surprise new romance on the horizon – and it may cause tensions. Elsewhere, one resident will fall ill after a mishap while Arthur’s bullying of Archie continues amid the rift between Laurel and Jai. And can Leyla snare Liam as their attraction continues to grow?
We also welcome back a familiar face as Aaron is back – while Mandy gets an unwelcome visitor in the form of a face from her past. But just what does he want with her?
There’s a lot going on…
