Netflix’s 365 DNI sparks backlash as sex scenes with kidnapper and victim accused of ‘romanticising Stockholm Syndrome’ – The Sun

Raunchy movie 365 DNI has sparked a backlash with Netflix viewers as they've accused the kinky sex scenes between a kidnapper and his victim of "romanticising Stockholm Syndrome".

The film follows the story of "dominant mafia boss" Massimo Torricelli (Michele Morrone) who imprisons Laura Biel (Anna Maria Sieklucka) and gives her one year to fall in love with him.

365 DNI is an adaptation of the erotic book of the same name by Blanka Lipińska, and claims to be about "a fiery executive in a spiritless relationship".

Laura is a successful sales director at a luxury hotel in Poland, whilst young and handsome Massimo is a leader of the Sicilian mafia following his father's assassination.

Trying to save her failing marriage, Laura plans a birthday trip to Sicily, but all does not go to plan when she is kidnapped by Massimo and kept captive in his villa.

Massimo then gives Laura the ultimate task – she must fall in love with him within 365 days.

However, some viewers were not impressed after tuning in and took to Twitter to vent their frustration.

"Just finished #365Dni & while the sex scenes were great, the story itself just romanticizes kidnapping & a forced relationship. You basically just watch shawty get Stockholm syndrome," one person tweeted.

A second added: "ok so i watched 365 dni and i kinda hate it. one. it romanticizes stockholm syndrome and sure you can say that i’m being extreme but no one falls in love by being called a w***e and then getting disrespected. if you wanted porn, there’s a website (sic)."

A third tweeted: "okay, given that 365 dni may have the hottest and sexiest characters leading the movie— the plot is pretty f**ked-up. it romanticizes harassment (which is so messy, btw), there's stockholm syndrome (which is a mental condition from which a victim falls inlove with her abductor (sic)."

Meanwhile, other viewers were convinced that the racy sex scenes in the movie were real as the main stars had such good chemistry.

"Those #365dni sex scenes too real bruh eye," one person posted, while another added: "YOU CANT TELL ME THEY DIDNT HAVE SEX HERE, THAT IT WAS FAKE, BECAUSE THAT WAS SO REAL. BREATHTAKING #365dni (sic)."

A third person also kept their caps lock on and tweeted: "I WANNA KNOW ARE THE SEX SCENES REAL IN 365DNI ? Is like the b***jobs and sex scenes are they real OR NOT !! if not, WHAT GREAT ACTORS #365dni #365dnimovie."
