The cast and crew of Peaky Blinders were expected to finish filming series six this month. However, thanks to the country being on lockdown, the BBC One crime drama hasn’t been able to get properly up and running for the new episodes. This means there will be a major delay in season six which may not be on our screens until 2022.
WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Peaky Blinders.
Tommy Shelby (played by Cillian Murphy) is the charming but violent leader of gang Peaky Blinders.
While many men fear what he could do next, he has been a fan-favourite of women both on and off-screen.
However, Tommy hasn’t exactly had the easiest life and at the end of series five, he was seen pointing a gun at his head while screaming into the abyss.
Finally, it looks like everything he has been through is starting to catch up on him.

From a young age, Tommy and the rest of his siblings were abandoned by their father Arthur Shelby Snr (Tommy Flanagan) and had to be looked after by aunt Polly Gray (Helen McCrory).
He started to suffer from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) when he returned from the First World War.
Then in season three, his beloved wife Grace Burgess (Annabelle Wallis) was shot and killed during a party and has been haunted by the memory of her ever since.
In series five, he went through even more drama as he found out Michael Gray (Finn Cole) was secretly plotting against him and bartender Micky Gibbs (Peter Campion) had been acting as a rat on behalf of the Titanic gang.
There seemed to be another traitor among them though as MP Oswald Mosley (Sam Claflin) was tipped off about the assassination attempt Tommy had planned for him, allowing Mosley to escape.
Tommy’s best friend from the army days Barney Thompson (Cosmo Jarvis) was also murdered during the rally.
Is Tommy Shelby still cursed?
No one can deny Tommy hasn’t had the easiest journey on the show.
Fans have been speculating for years about whether he is actually cursed.
Just before Grace was killed, Tatiana Petrovna (Gaite Jansen) told Tommy the sapphire necklace he gave to her was cursed.
After she died, he even visited gypsy Bethany Boswell (Frances Tomelty) to find out if the jewellery had been cursed, clearly riddled with guilt at the thought he could have been the one to blame.
Director Anthony Byrne has recently opened up about the idea of Tommy being cursed.

During a live Q&A via the show’s official website, Byrne said: “I like the supernatural element.
“‘Is Tommy cursed?’, in other words, is everything predestined, are lives already mapped out? Do you have free will or not?
“Tommy sometimes feels that he doesn’t because it seems that everything is destined to stop him or move him in a particular direction.
“It’s the same with the whole family. I explore that more in the next series.”
