Piers Morgan has been inundated with messages suggesting he should take over from Phillip Schofield at This Morning.
The ITV star, who was booted off Good Morning Britain after he branded Meghan Markle a liar following her interview with Oprah Winfrey, was a controversial favourite among viewers.

Although his opinions divided the audience, fans loved Piers on the show, so when opportunity called, people rushed to convince him to return to ITV.
As Piers addressed the comments he posted a picture of him with Holly Willoughby – but sadly he made it crystal clear that one thing is keeping him back from ever returning.
Piers wrote: "Thanks to everyone suggesting I might replace Phillip Schofield at This Morning in a Lazarus-like comeback to ITV.
"Unfortunately there's just one problem: I still don't believe a single word Meghan Markle says!"
People immediately responded to the tweet as one user joked: "That's you out of the running then!" While another said: "Please do this. TV shows like this will be worth watching!"
A third added: "It would make interesting TV."
Piers had to leave his job at ITV after he refused to apologise to Meghan, and he didn't return after it was revealed he hadn't broken any rules by Ofcom.
Instead, Piers went and hosted his own show on TalkTV, but fans were still hopeful he might one day return.
The opportunity for Piers to join the show comes as ITV and Phillip Schofield confirmed he would not be returning to the This Morning sofa after two decades on air.
The TV star confirmed his exit on Saturday, May 20, in a statement.
He said: "I have always been proud to cover fascinating stories on This Morning. But recently, This Morning itself has become the story.
"Throughout my career in TV – including the very difficult last few days – I have always done my best to be honourable and kind.
"I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can't go on, and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love."
He explained he agreed to step down from This Morning with "immediate effect" adding: "I'd like to thank everyone who has supported me."
A new replacement for Phil is yet to be confirmed.
