Piers Morgan will be replaced by Ben Shephard on Good Morning Britain as the star awaits test results to see if he has coronavirus.
The TV host announced on Twitter today (Sunday) that he will be absent from Monday’s show after taking a precautionary test for the Covid-19 virus.
Assuring fans that he was OK, Piers said that he was taking the test after showing a ‘very mild symptom’ over the weekend.
A GMB spokesperson has now confirmed to Metro.co.uk that Ben will be stepping in for him during his absence.
Despite the test, Piers said it was just an ‘abundance of caution’ to ensure any potential spread was stopped in its tracks.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote: ‘UPDATE: On medical advice, and out of an abundance of caution for a mild symptom that arose in past 48hrs, I’ve had a test for COVID-19 and so won’t be working on @GMB until I get the result back, which should be tomorrow.’
The message has since been retweeted by Susanna Reid and his co-stars.
Since coronavirus made its way to the UK, Piers has been praised for his no-nonsense approach to tackling government officials about their lack of preparation.
He also has stood up for the NHS, and offered to pay all parking tickets for staff members who were being charged to park in the hospitals or while working.
However, he’s also come under fire for being ‘too combative’ with those who have appeared on the show.
Most recently, another flood of complaints to watchdog Ofcom were send after his interview with MP Victoria Atkins, the safeguarding minister.
His line of questioning was later backed up by Susanna.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
