Rick and Morty was welcomed back with open arms by fans after a two-year long wait following the third season. The fourth series began on Adult Swim and Channel 4’s E4 in November last year. The cartoon showed the first half of the season and then took a five-month break before showing the second half.

The penultimate episode of Rick and Morty was shown on Sunday, May 24 and proved a hit with fans.

Entitled Childrick of Mort, the episode started with the entire family taking a trip in the car.

Rick then received a mysterious phone call about him needing to visit another planet urgently.

Agreeing to the visit, Rick turned the car into a spaceship and the whole family headed off on the unexpected adventure.

When they arrived, Rick found out he had just become a dad again after previously having sex with a living planet.

While he wanted to just leave and let the planet deal with its problems, Beth insisted he stayed and try to help out.

What will happen in Rick and Morty season 4, episode 10?

The finale of Rick and Morty season four will be shown on Sunday, May 31 on Adult Swim.

The same episode will then be aired a few days later for UK fans on Thursday, May 4, on E4.

This episode will be called Star Mort: Rickturn of the Jerri and a teaser trailer has already been released.

Following the previous episode, it looks like it’s going to be another family affair for the finale.

In the trailer, the family is gathered around the table eating dinner when Beth suggests an idea which doesn’t please everyone.

She said: “Dr Wong had a cancellation today, anyone up for a family session?”

Awkwardly, Rick says he is “disintegrating” and disappears but Morty knows he is only using the invisibility belt.

Jerry tries to grab the belt which makes Rick reappear and have a go at Morty for telling them what it really was.

His grandson says he did it because he’s never allowed to use it, so when Summer asks if she can wear it to mess around with her little brother, Rick is more than happy to oblige.

So while the teaser went on a brief tangent, it seems like the heart of the episode will be about all of them taking part in family therapy.

Rick left his wife and daughter Beth behind when she was young and only returned to live with them in recent years.

Beth has been determined to keep her dad around for as long as possible after leaving her, so the therapy session is bound to be emotional for her.

Rick and Morty themselves could also end up with a few issues they need to discuss, given everything they have been through.
