'Sister Wives': Have Kody Brown's Wives Formed Alliances?

KodyBrown doesn’t like seeing his wives get along. At least, that’s the way itseems on the most recent season of Sister Wives. While the wives look tobe banding together, Kody appears to be getting more and more jaded about thelifestyle that he has chosen. Followers are now starting to wonder if MeriBrown, Robyn Brown, Janelle Brown, and ChristineBrown have formed alliances within their own families. It seems like it’spossible.

Kody Brown admits that he doesn’t like to see his wives hangout

Kody might promote the concept of one big, happy family, but he’s apparently not particularly jazzed by the idea of seeing his wives spend time together. On a recent episode, Kody opened up about the fact that his wives seem to band together against him when they don’t like something he is doing. That, apparently, doesn’t sit well with him and appears to be a pretty frequent occurrence since the family moved to Flagstaff, Arizona.

According to Daily Soap Dish, Kody was particularly uncomfortable watching his wives make snow angels together after they vetoed the idea of one big house on their Coyote Pass property. He claims that they team up against him when the mood strikes them. Robyn has noticed. She even called him out on Twitter about it during a recent episode.

Janelle and Christine seem to work together

While the Brown wives may not be thebest of friends, some fans believe they have formed alliances over theyears, based on who they can actually stomach. Christine and Janelle, for example, seemingly work together on a lot of projects and have for decades.During the early seasons of the show, Christine and Janelle explained that theyworked together based on their preferences. Janelle, who enjoys holding a job, often relied on Christine to care for her children, and Christine, whoapparently enjoys home life, had no problem helping out. Janelle offered helpwith tasks that Christine didn’t particularly care for.

Meanwhile, Robyn and Meri appear to be more bonded to each other than they are to their other sister wives. Back in June 2019, Meri and Robyn both called each other out, sharing their friendship with the world on social media. Meri, according to the family’s book, Becoming Sister Wives, was partially involved in bringing Robyn into the family, and their friendship appears to be, at the very least, somewhat stable. Kody has even accused Robyn of defending Meri too much.

Is the dynamic common in polygamist families?

Understanding the inner workings of polygamy is pretty tricky, particularly for people who don’t have experience within the alternativelifestyle. Still, it appears as though the formation of alliances isn’t allthat uncommon. After all, thewives are expected to work as a team. It stands to reason that at somepoint, some wives will work together better than others, and preferences willbecome apparent.

Kirstyn Decker, who is related to Christine, has called the system a cult and has suggested abuse is common inside polygamist families. She’s noted that manipulation is standard, too. If manipulation commonly exists, it would make sense that some wives would make their lives a bit more bearable by buddying up with the wife they have the most in common with.
