Nina (Mollie Gallagher) has made clear her position on anything that harms the environment in Coronation Street, but her desire to do the right thing may well end up getting her — not to mention several other cobbles’ residents — into bother with the law, as she leads a protest at the Town Hall in the coming episodes.
Nina has made quite the impression of the residents of Coronation Street since her arrival several months ago, and in that time she’s become a staple of the cobbles — professing to the do the right thing for the environment and for the wildlife.
She once encouraged Toyah (Georgia Thompson) to not apply for a job due to the business’ negative reputation, and she made quite a few friends on the trip to Blackpool too.
In the coming episodes, Nina reveals that she, Evelyn (Maureen Lipman) and Mary (Patti Clare) are planning on heading to a zero carbon protest at the Town Hall, and Toyah’s ears prick up at such a revelation — evidently interested.
What actually happens during the protest remains to be seen, but it’s up to Leanne (Jane Danson) to locate Imran (Charlie de Melo) and inform him of the shocking news — Nina, Mary and Evelyn have all been arrested!
What will transpire?
Will there be prison sentences?
What’s more, what exactly happened during the protest?
