Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) is determined to see Johnny’s adoption through in Emmerdale, in spite of the fact that she needs Kirin Kotecha’s (Adam Fielding) authority in order to proceed, and thus she set about tracking the young man down.
Charity revealed that the reason she hesitated in regards to agreeing to look after Johnny in the event of Vanessa’s (Michelle Hardwick) death wasn’t because she didn’t want the responsibility of such a task, but rather because she couldn’t picture a world in which Vanessa wasn’t by her side.
With the two on the same page once more, they set about making things official, and during Friday’s episode, Charity set off for a meeting in order to do just that.
However, during tonight’s instalment, she returned to the village with some bad news, as she’d been informed that — in order to proceed with the adoption — they need approval from Johnny’s dad Kirin.
Acquiring such approval would be a tall task, given that Kirin’s whereabouts are currently unknown, and therefore Charity sought out Priya (Fiona Wade) — hoping that she’d be able to give her some sort of clue.
Unfortunately, Priya didn’t know anything, and thus Charity was devastated, but — with Vanessa in a good mood —she didn’t want to upset her fiancée, and therefore resolved to keep such information a secret for the time being.
As the episode came to a close, it was revealed that Charity has been searching the web for some private investigators.
Will she succeed in tracking Kirin down?
Will Kirin return to the village?
