Spoilers: Sinister Scott exposes Johnny's dark secret in Corrie?

It’s clear that Johnny Connor (Richard Hawley) is hiding a dark secret from the past as the arrival of mysterious Scott (Tom Roberts) has left him full of fear in Coronation Street. But just what is their connection – and why is Johnny so keen to avoid him?

With Scott working nearby on a building contract, he is planning to stay at the Rovers for several months, much to the joy of Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews). But when Johnny catches sight of him and hides, it becomes clear that they share a past – and Scott knows something about him that could destroy everything he holds dear.

Newcomer to the soap Tom told Metro.co.uk: ‘It becomes obvious pretty much straight away, as soon as Johnny clocks him, that there is a past there. It takes quite a lot to frighten Johnny, he’s no pushover and he is quite a strong guy.

‘So viewers will know from the outset that this outwardly charming, funny man with his witty lines and his confidence is not all that he seems.

‘There is an interaction with Johnny – he really doesn’t want to come back from France to face this guy and I can say there is definitely a past there, a dark one and I am intrigued to see what theories fans come up with. Fans are great at speculating so I am sure there will be some outlandish ones.’

As Johnny makes hurried plans for Carla (Alison King) and Peter (Chris Gascoyne) to look after the Rovers, he rushes out to France with an oblivious Jenny.

But he is going to have to face Scott sooner or later – and Tom has promised big twists to come.

He smiled: ‘Johnny and Scott’s past is a big one and there are some big surprises and twists which will be drip fed to the audience and I can’t wait to see the reaction.’

Will he tell anyone what Johnny is hiding while he is away?
