The Walking Dead boss teases season 10 finale after production delays

The Walking Dead boss has teased the season 10 finale after production was delayed amid the coronavirus pandemic.

We last saw the Alexandrian survivors in the midst of panic as Beta (Ryan Hurst) made his way towards their camp with a herd of walkers.

And it seems they’re going to have to up their game if they are to defeat the Whisperer leader – especially as the group is all broken up.

Three of their strongest fighters are out looking for Eugene’s (Josh McDermitt) girlfriend, seeing King Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura) come face to face with newcomer Princess (Paola Lázaro) on their search.

‘Obviously we’ve got this new power group of four, with Princess and Ezekiel and Eugene and Yumiko, that is off on the road, and so we are going to see some interesting turns in that,’ showrunner Angela Kang said to Entertainment Weekly.

Turning her attention to the Beta storyline, the director added: ‘And then the big story that we have been following all season with the Whisperers.

‘Now that Alpha is gone and Beta is having to step up into that leadership role — with his kinda half-Alpha and Beta face — we’re going to see our people take their stand against Beta and the Whisperers.’

And it seems as though they have included a whole host of plots for the remaining characters, including Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride).

‘There’s some pretty cool things going on with Negan,’ Kang stated. ‘We’ve got Carol kind of in her quest for redemption, we’ve got some awesome stuff with Father Gabriel, we are waiting for the return of Maggie, Daryl has got some awesome business going on.

‘You know, it’s the whole cast, everybody is so great.’

The series finale was delayed following the Covid-19 outbreak, however, it looks as though the crew have finally decided a release date.

When chatting on CartoonistKayfabe, Robert Kirkman, the man behind the comic books, said: ‘The old Walking Dead show will be coming back. We’ll be airing — I know dates. I don’t think they’re public.

‘But we have the finale of [Season 10]… There will be more Walking Dead television for you to watch at some point in the future.’

The Waking Dead season 10 finale is expected to drop onto AMC and NOW TV later this year.
