This Morning's soap expert, Sharon Marshall, had a chaotic journey to The British Soap Awards 2023 after her taxi's engine "exploded" and she was left pushing the car in her ballgown.
It's not all glamour for TV stars as Sharon, 51, found out on Saturday night when she attempted to get to the lavish soiree being held at The Lowry in Manchester to celebrate the best and brightest talent of the soap world.
While en route to the ceremony in Salford, Sharon experienced an unexpected delay.
She took to Twitter and told her fans: "Taxi car engine just exploded. Now pushing the poor driver and his broken cab up salford quays in my ballgown if anyone drives past and can help!".
Fans rushed to the comments to offer support during the ordeal with one even offering to drive down from Scotland to help.
"Give me three hours to get down from Scotland", suggested one dedicated fan.
Another said: "Just been into Manchester I could have helped you. It is all happening in Manchester tonight. Enjoy your evening x."
"Oh no but well done for helping him. You should win an award just for that!", one more commented.
She shortly Tweeted again and said: "Ok, arriving on foot, slightly oily hands.."
To the relief of Sharon, they made it safely to the annual soap awards and on time it looked like.
The soap expert from This Morning shared the happy news with fans and wrote "made it" alongside a crying face emoji and a snap from inside The Lowry.
This year's British Soap Awards 2023 was hosted by former Loose Women presenter Jane McDonald, who stepped in at the last minute to take over presenting duties following the departure of Phillip Schofield from ITV in the wake of his affair scandal.
Ahead of the ceremony, the delighted star told her fans on Instagram: "Everyone knows how much I LOVE my soaps, this year I've been honoured to be mentioned in Corrie, EastEnders and Emmerdale so this is just a dream come true.
"I can't wait to see all our wonderful soap nominees and celebrate all their hard work with them – roll on the awards, I can't wait.”
While the ceremony itself took place on Saturday 3 June it won’t be broadcast to the public until Tuesday 6 June at 8pm on ITV1.
