What happened to Geoff in Coronation Street?

The harrowing storyline between Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) and his wife Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) came to a head on Friday night’s episode of Coronation Street, when Yasmeen finally stood up to her vile husband.

And it appears as though she reached a point of no return, as episodes this week will show her calling 999 and telling the operator she has killed Geoff.

Ensuing scenes will show Yasmeen being questioned, while the police raid the couple’s home for evidence.

What happened, and does this spell the end of evil Geoff’s rein?

What happened to Geoff in Coronation Street?

Geoff was left for dead on Friday’s episode after Yasmeen finally stood up to her evil tormenter.

Earlier in the episode, Geoff had forced his wife to wear a sexy – and inappropriate – dress to the Rovers.

It later transpired he had bought the dress for one of his escorts.

More conflict ensued when she discovered he had offered to pay for Sally and Tim’s wedding – at the expense of the business.

Geoff then called the evening to an abrupt end, forcing Yasmeen to go home, where he continued to fire a barrage of insults at her while admitting he uses escorts.

As he lunged forward to attack her, Yasmeen finally snapped and defended herself using a glass bottle.

After she struck him, Geoff was shown gasping for breath before collapsing on the ground.

It’s not clear whether or not he has actually died, although Corrie boss Iain Macleod has promised the storyline will feature ‘good drama karma’ which could spell the end of vile Geoff.

He told Radio Times: ‘It’s been refined month by month in conjunction with our charity and research partners (including Women’s Aid). We’ve known pretty much from the start this incident would be one of the major peaks.’

Iain added ‘It is important to have what I call good ‘drama karma’: what you’re putting on screen is karmically making the world little bit of a better place. I really think this story is.’

Coronation Street continues tonight, Monday 4 May, at 7:30pm
