Hollyoaks Favourites have got a real treat for viewers this week, as classic episodes featuring Silas Blissett are getting a re-run.
In the latest round of classic episodes from the soap’s vaults, we get to relive some of the serial killer’s most notorious moments – kicking off with an infamous episode from Halloween 2011.
As we prepare to see those episodes once again, just who was Silas Blissett – and who did he kill?
Here’s what you need to know…
Who was Silas in Hollyoaks?
Silas Blissett, played by actor Jeff Rawle, made his first appearance in Hollyoaks in 2010.
A journalist by trade, he appeared in the soap on and off between 2010 and 2016, leaving a trail of destruction in his wake – including a string of murder victims and attempted murders.
He is known to have killed at least five people while he was on the show – although it was implied that he had a lot more victims than that, including his own wife Joan.
Who did Silas kill?
Despite claiming that Joan had been killed by an intruder, Silas was actually revealed to have killed her, pushing her down the stairs after learning that she was having an affair with a neighbour.
He staged a burglary to make it look as though she had been killed by someone breaking into the house – and faked a heart attack, which was treated as a false alarm by the hospital.
Silas subsequently murdered India Longford (Beth Kingston) after they met on an Internet dating site her sister Texas has joined, where he was posing as a man called Cameron. After discovering that she had been catfished by him Silas killed India, taking her ring and hiding her body in the woods.
His second victim, Rebecca Massey (Daisy Turner) – who went under the fake name of Jenny Houston – also fell for the fake internet dating profile, with Silas this time pretending to be a man called David Cox.
She attempted to scam him out of money as they shared a picnic in the woods together, but Silas ended up drugging and strangling her and once again burying her body.
His next victim, Rae Wilson (Alice Barlow) was singled out due to his disapproval of her desire to use men for casual flings – leading to him beating her and strangling her to death in an alleyway on an episode of Hollyoaks Later.
Silas’ long-running feud with Lynsey Nolan (Karen Hassan), led to his next victim, Heidi Costello (Kim Tiddy) – his own daughter – meeting her maker, after he mistook her for Lynsey at a Halloween costume party when they were wearing the same outfit – a black catsuit.
Silas knocked Heidi unconscious before killing her – and was devastated when he discovered that he had killed his own daughter.
Although the character was sent to a mental institution he returned briefly in 2016, claiming final victim Lindsay Roscoe (Sophie Austin) – who had been on a killing spree of her own as the soap’s Gloved Hand Killer.
Hollyoaks Favourites is on E4 on Wednesday night at 7pm.
