A driver tried to throw £25,000 worth of cocaine out of his van after being caught by the police but failed as the window was closed.

Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police stopped the driver on the M5 and when they got to the cab they discovered the inside was covered in white powder.

The South Devon Crime and Proactive Policing Team said on Twitter that the driver had tried to throw his illegal haul out the window.

The driver tried to throw £25,000 worth of cocaine out the window but he had forgotten to open it so it hit the window and split

But his day went from bad to worse as the bag hit the closed window and split, covering the inside of his van with ‘approximately £25,000 of cocaine’.

In the post on Twitter on May 7, they said: ‘This van was stopped on the M5 on its way into Devon. The white powder is approx £25,000 worth of cocaine which was scattered all over the cab after its owner tried to throw it out of the window (which was closed!).

‘Great Team effort with Firearms, Traffic and Scenes of Crime.’

The picture posted by South Devon Crime and Proactive Policing Team shows the scenes inside the van from the drivers side.

The white powder is all over the floor, passenger seat and interior door handle.

The driver’s window appears to have shattered and there is a white plastic bag on the floor between the driver and passenger seat.
