{"id":77069,"date":"2023-08-28T22:09:21","date_gmt":"2023-08-28T22:09:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/posterboyedit.com\/?p=77069"},"modified":"2023-08-28T22:09:21","modified_gmt":"2023-08-28T22:09:21","slug":"lord-of-the-rings-soundtrack-is-voted-the-uks-favourite-film-music","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/posterboyedit.com\/world-news\/lord-of-the-rings-soundtrack-is-voted-the-uks-favourite-film-music\/","title":{"rendered":"Lord Of The Rings soundtrack is voted the UK&apos;s favourite film music"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>The Lord Of The Rings soundtrack is voted the UK&#8217;s favourite film music, beating other scores including Schindler&#8217;s List and Star Wars<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>\u00a0Music from Gladiator, Interstellar and Jurassic Park also made the top 20<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The soundtrack to The Lord Of The Rings has been voted the nation&#8217;s favourite film music in the Classic FM Movie Music Hall Of Fame 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Howard Shore&#8217;s score beat the likes of Schindler&#8217;s List, which was runner-up, and Star Wars, which came in third.<\/p>\n<p>More than 10,000 votes were cast by members of the public in a poll to find the nation&#8217;s most popular piece of film music.<\/p>\n<p>The top 100 were played on Classic FM before the number one was revealed by chat show host and radio presenter Jonathan Ross at just before 7pm on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>He said: &#8216;I&#8217;m so thrilled to see The Lord Of The Rings make it to number one in this incredible celebration of history&#8217;s greatest film scores in the Classic FM Movie Music Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/08\/28\/21\/74808405-12454527-image-m-42_1693256164582.jpg\" height=\"421\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The Lord of the Rings soundtrack was voted the nation&#8217;s favourite film score<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/08\/28\/21\/74808265-12454527-image-a-43_1693256244839.jpg\" height=\"951\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Howard Shore, who composed the music for the films based on JRR Tolkien&#8217;s works, thanked Classic FM listeners for choosing his score as their favourite<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/08\/28\/22\/74808745-12454527-image-a-44_1693256662701.jpg\" height=\"709\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>John Williams was the nation&#8217;s favourite composer, with five of his soundtracks making the list<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;JRR Tolkien&#8217;s adventures are beautiful, spectacular films, but the experience is so enhanced by the incredible score that I&#8217;m delighted to see Howard Shore&#8217;s music getting this much love.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Reacting to the news, Mr Shore said: &#8216;Many thanks to all the Classic FM listeners. I&#8217;m very happy that I was able to bring you a little closer to JRR Tolkien&#8217;s Middle-earth.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Other music in the top 20 included the soundtracks of Gladiator, Chariots Of Fire, Titanic, Pirates Of The Caribbean, and Interstellar.<\/p>\n<p>John Williams proved to be the nation&#8217;s favourite composer in the list with five entries in the top 20 alone &#8211; Schindler&#8217;s List, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, and Harry Potter And The Philosopher&#8217;s Stone.<\/p>\n<p>The first Lord Of The Rings film in the trilogy premiered in 2001 and won Oscars for visual effects, make-up, cinematography, and music for its original score.<\/p>\n<p>More recently, it has enjoyed a resurgence with the launch of The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power TV series, after season one was released in 2022.<\/p>\n<h3>The top 20 of the Classic FM Movie Music Hall of Fame 2023:<\/h3>\n<p>1.
