The budget supermarket giant opened its 1,000th site just last week on September 7.<\/p>\n
And it\u2019s not the end of its expansion. In fact, the retailer has committed to getting a further 20 Aldi branches up and running before the end of 2023.<\/p>\n
Two more will open in a matter of days, with the first in Warrington set to unlock its doors on Thursday, September 14.<\/p>\n
A second site will make its debut in Seaton, East Devon next Thursday, September 21.<\/p>\n
While many other supermarkets like Iceland and Tesco are closing shops across the nation, the leading budget chain plans to continue its expansion by hundreds in the long term.<\/p>\n

More info<\/p>\n Its UK and Ireland CEO, Giles Hurley, said: \u201cOpening our 1,000th store is a huge milestone and wouldn\u2019t have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our 40,000 incredible colleagues.<\/p>\n \u201cOur popularity is growing, and there is huge demand for people to have an Aldi store near to them to increase shoppers\u2019 access to our unbeatable prices.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThe next phase of our expansion will involve another 500 new stores over the coming years.\u201d<\/p>\n The CEO continued: \u201cIt is a long-term target and is not a ceiling to our ambition to have an Aldi store close to everyone in the UK.\u201d<\/p>\n Aldi\u2019s expansion has seen the supermarket attract customers from different regions, including the southeast of England.<\/p>\n The newest Woking store is one of more than 150 sites that the retailer now has in the area, despite starting out in the Midlands.<\/p>\n Birmingham residents were lucky enough to welcome the budget chain\u2019s first UK store back in 1990 when it opened in Stechford.<\/p>\n![](\"https:\/\/cdn.images.express.co.uk\/img\/dynamic\/130\/590x\/secondary\/aldi-store-opening-4956978.jpg?r=1694591818323\")
