One video showed Noa Argamani, a 25-year-old student who was filmed screaming &#8216;don&#8217;t kill me&#8217; as she was dragged away on a motorcyle by Hamas thugs.<\/p>\n<p>The IDF is under immense pressure to get the hostages as quickly as possible, as Hamas said on Monday that it would begin executing an Israeli captive every time Israel bombs a civilian home without warning.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We have decided to put an end to this and as of now, we declare that any targeting of our people in their homes without prior warning will be regrettably faced with the execution of one the hostages of civilians we are holding,&#8217; Abu Obaida, spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, said in a recording released to Al Jazeera.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Alexander Grinberg, of the Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security, said that Israeli &#8216;strikes will first of all target Hamas command centres and troops, with fire coming from everywhere&#8217;.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/10\/08\/76368247-12613647-image-m-10_1696923642811.jpg\" height=\"669\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Hamas terrorists have taken at least 100 people as hostages<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/10\/08\/76368253-12613647-image-a-12_1696923651804.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>City fighting is &#8216;a 360-degree battlefield as the threats can be all around you&#8217;, said one military expert<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/10\/10\/08\/76368243-12613647-image-a-11_1696923649798.jpg\" height=\"423\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Using artillery can make the situation worse, as while it may kill some defenders, the rubble then provides them with cover&#8217;, former British Army officer Andrew Galen said<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;At the same time, the army will prepare to enter Gaza,&#8217; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Such urban fighting will force combatants into hand-to-hand combat, reduce visibility, increase the risk of traps, blur boundaries between civilians and soldiers and render armoured vehicles next to useless.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Everyone knows it will be long and difficult, with many losses,&#8217; Grinberg said, although technology such as robots could work in the assaulting forces&#8217; favour.<\/p>\n<p>Former British army officer Andrew Galer, who works as an analyst at private intelligence firm Janes, said that the IDF&#8217;s fight in the Gaza Strip would be tough, as city fighting is &#8216;a 360-degree battlefield as the threats can be all around you.&#8217;\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Going house-to-house to secure potentially booby-trapped buildings means bringing in bomb disposal experts with cumbersome gear like ladders, ropes and explosives &#8211; is the root cause of Hamas atrocities<\/h3>\n<p>Hamas &#8216;knows its tunnels by heart,&#8217; said Colin Clarke, research director at the New York-based Soufan Center think-tank.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;Some are probably booby-trapped. Preparing to fight in such terrain&#8230; would require extensive intelligence&#8230; which the Israelis may not have,&#8217; he added.<\/p>\n<p>Underground fighting would hand a major tactical advantage to the Hamas defenders and their leadership.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, Hamas&#8217; tunnel advantage &#8216;could also turn out to be a trap,&#8217; he added.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;When tunnels are found, they can be closed off to shut in the people inside.
