The Planet Earth narrator even said in 2016 that he will never retire because one can never \u201ctire\u201d from nature. Yet, the star has been tripped up by some issues with his memory.<\/p>\n<p>After the filming for Planet Earth II, which came out in 2016, the star described that doing his work didn\u2019t always come as a breeze.<\/p>\n<p>He described \u201ccoming to terms\u201d with natural memory loss and how scriptwriting for programmes takes longer to do because he struggles to recall the \u201cproper names\u201d of things.<\/p>\n<p>One dilemma he has been open about occurred in the Jura Mountains in Switzerland.<\/p>\n<p>He was looking at beautiful fields but couldn\u2019t remember what they were called.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.images.express.co.uk\/img\/dynamic\/11\/590x\/attenborough1-1619897.jpg?r=1699132895471\"><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There were these searing yellow fields, and I can&#8217;t think of the damn name,&#8221; he told The Independent.<\/p>\n<p>For most people, memory loss doesn&#8217;t interrupt day-to-day life.<\/p>\n<p>The Alzheimer\u2019s Society explains that memory issues that do not disrupt normal life, and do not affect your ability to perform a task or learn new things are known as \u201cage-associated memory impairment\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.images.express.co.uk\/img\/dynamic\/11\/590x\/secondary\/dandelion-4103850.jpg?r=1699132895541\"><\/p>\n<p>The NHS states that people should see their GP about memory problems only if they affect day-to-day life.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt&#8217;s probably nothing serious, but it&#8217;s best to get checked because any treatment you need may work better if it&#8217;s started early,\u201d states the health body.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the few slip-ups, Attenborough is continuing his legendary career.<\/p>\n<p>The reason he has lasted so long and his memory hasn\u2019t deteriorated more than it has could be due to how much he has been out in nature.<\/p>\n<p>Sir David Attenborough is back on our screens this weekend as he presents Planet Earth III on BBC.<\/p>\n<p>The naturalist said of the highly-anticipated series, which focus on the four corners of the globe: &#8220;The natural world is not always there, simple because we have become such a dominant species in terms of numbers<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ve now got to realise that we&#8217;ve got to live together and not on the terms that we choose.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The show will look at how animals are adapting to manmade changes.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.images.express.co.uk\/img\/dynamic\/11\/590x\/secondary\/david3-4103851.jpg?r=1699132895604\"><\/p>\n<p>Studies have found exposure to the natural environment improves working memory.<\/p>\n<p>In one study by the University of Michigan, students did a memory test and then split off into two groups.<\/p>\n<p>One group walked around a botanical garden covered with trees while others walked down a city street.<\/p>\n<p>The groups returned and did another memory test. Those that walked through the garden improved their results by roughly 20 percent while those who went through the city showed no consistent improvement.<\/p>\n<p>Attenborough has even touted the mental health benefits of being among nature in a video collaboration with the charity Mind.<\/p>\n<p>In the video, posted on Twitter by Mind, he said: \u201cYou can get the natural world into your life if you want to. Even in the most urban of circumstances. Even a pot that\u2019s growing under some little glass cover in your home: growing, budding and flowering and putting out shoots, and so on.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou don\u2019t see it happen except that you know that it has happened and you look at it every day and you care for it every day, and it\u2019s a joy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2>David Attenborough&#8217;s latest programme &#8211; Planet Earth III<\/h2>\n<p>Sir David Attenborough is back on our screens this weekend as he presents Planet Earth III on BBC One at 6.15pm tonight.<\/p>\n<p>The naturalist said of the highly-anticipated series, which focuses on the four corners of the globe: &#8220;The natural world is not always there, simply because we have become such a dominant species in terms of numbers<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;ve now got to realise that we&#8217;ve got to live together and not on the terms that we choose.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The show will look at how animals are adapting to manmade changes and has won rave reviews since the series kicked off last month.<\/p>\n<p>However, not everyone is a fan. Jeremy Clarkson has revealed he &#8220;hates&#8221; the new series of David Attenborough&#8217;s show.<\/p>\n<p>The Grand Tour star said although he has been &#8220;glued&#8221; to the BBC show&#8217;s new episodes, he believes David&#8217;s storytelling is not as good as it used to be.<\/p>\n<p>Giving his reasons, Jeremy, 63, said: &#8220;Oh the photography is brilliant. Spellbinding even.
