Lorraine Kelly shares scary experience with strong coffee<\/h3>\n

Lorraine Kelly described the Lockerbie Bombing as an “absolute horror” in her new TV project away from her ITV chatshow.<\/p>\n

The Scottish presenter’s documentary, Return To Lockerbie with Lorraine Kelly, will air on ITV next week and will see the 63-year-old exploring Europe’s deadliest terror attack – the Lockerbie disaster – and the impact it had on the town.<\/p>\n

Drew Young, whose team was asked to guard the nosecone of the plane that had fallen in a field next to Tundergarth Church, features in the programme.<\/p>\n

Speaking in the field next to the church, he tells her in a first-look clip: “A lot of folk wouldn’t talk about it… It\u2019s like a shutter coming down.”<\/p>\n

When asked if the feeling was still there, he answered: “The town shut down that night. The town shut down.”<\/p>\n

This December will mark 35 years since Lorraine became one of the first TV reporters to arrive at the scene after Pan Am Flight 103 exploded mid-air, killing all 259 people aboard and 11 on the ground.<\/p>\n

Before the police cordoned off the area, she saw first-hand the shocking aftermath of the disaster.<\/p>\n

Confronting her own difficult memories, Lorraine will return to try to understand what happened to Lockerbie and its people once the TV cameras went home.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Drew, she explained: “I feel that an awful lot of people don’t appreciate the scale of what happened and the effect it had on people here.<\/p>\n
