Gogglebox star speaks about Dancing On Ice rehearsal

Dancing On Ice fans have aired their concern over whether the show could be “axed” as presenters have reportedly not been confirmed for the imminent season.

The ITV dance show, set to kick off in weeks, was hosted by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield. But with Phillip parting ways with ITV earlier this year following his This Morning scandal and Holly’s return still up in the air, viewers fear the show’s future is in turmoil.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan wrote: “I really hope Dancing On Ice isn’t cancelled.” While another said: “I’m desperate to know who the new hosts are.”

A third insisted that the show wouldn’t be the same without Holly, while a fourth commented: “I can’t believe Dancing On Ice is still going ahead in the new year, after losing one host it now looks like they’re losing another, plus so many pros left, and one of the judges is about to give birth. Just cancel the damn thing!!”

However, an ITV source has confirmed to Express.co.uk that the show is still set to go firmly ahead.

The confirmation comes as Holly, 42, has been reportedly reluctant to return to Dancing On Ice after quitting her hosting role at ITV’s This Morning back in October.

Her exit from the breakfast show came just months after her co-host and former pal Phillip, 61, was forced to resign. The former duo had hosted Dancing on Ice on and off since its 2006 launch.

Christine Lampard took over for three seasons before Holly and Phillip were back at the helm in 2018 and were considered a permanent fixture on the competition series.

While the hosting positions are now uncertain, one thing that is seemingly set in stone is the full contestant line-up. Dancing On Ice’s first contestant was revealed as former professional boxer Ricky Hatton.

Coronation Street star Claire Sweeney was the second star to be announced and she was swiftly followed by Hannah Spearritt, Amber Davies, Greg Rutherford and Miles Nazaire.
