While viewers around the country tuned into Quarterbacks to get an inside look at the personal and professional lives of quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, and Marcus Mariota, we tuned in to see one of our favorite little fashionistas: Sterling Mahomes. Patrick’s now-2-year-old daughter makes appearances throughout the docuseries that was filmed during the 2022-2023 football season.
In a recent interview with The Drive on Audacy’s 610 Sports Radio, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback talked about what it’s like for Sterling — who he shares with wife Brittany Mahomes along with their 9-month-old son Bronze — to see herself on TV.
“She kind of freezes when she sees herself,” he said. Which is fair. Can you imagine how freaky it would be to see yourself on Netflix?
“[S]he definitely realizes when mom and dad are on TV,” Patrick continued. “So she’ll yell out ‘Mommy!’ or ‘Daddy!’ It’s cool, and I’m glad that we got to document such a great season, where a lot of stuff happened in my family off and on the football field [like Bronze being born], and I’ll be able to have that forever.”
Patrick has a similar experience watching himself on TV. It’s one thing to see himself in a game, but he’s like his daughter when it comes to watching Quarterbacks. He said it’s weird for him to watch himself “working out and doing stuff like that.”
“But at the same time, I think it’ll be cool for my kids to watch as they get older.”
With two tots at home, Patrick has to make the most of his free time, finding a way to balance both family and football. The Kansas City Chiefs didn’t play this past Sunday, which can be a rarity during the football season.
“Having a free Sunday, I wasn’t really tuned into [other games],” he said. “You’re chasing the kids around and just have a lot in the background, but it’s always good to spend time with them.”
Whether or not Patrick will have other kids to chase around during future football seasons is uncertain. Brittany addressed pregnancy rumors last month, saying they’re not sure if a third baby is in their future.
“We aren’t sure honestly!” the co-owner of the Kansas City Current said. “Part of me says yes part of me says ehhhh maybe not!”
