Celebrity MasterChef: Wynne Evans wins the final
Celebrity MasterChef’s Wynne Evans has shown off the results of his dramatic five-stone weight loss.
Wynne, who was recently crowned the winner of the 2023 BBC One cooking competition, took to Twitter to post a striking before and after snap of himself last night, which revealed just how much he’s slimmed down.
Looking almost unrecognisable in the latest photo, he captioned the post: “One year ago to the day at the start of my weight loss journey. It’s never easy and it’s nearly always about mindset. It was just the right time for me.”
Earlier this year, Wynne, known for donning a suit to embody the larger-than-life character in the Go Compare adverts, candidly discussed the decision to shed the pounds in an interview on ITV’s This Morning.
He said he was inspired to get healthier after he reached 24 stone, which led to his inability to do basic everyday things, such as “washing and getting up the stairs”.

He also admitted that he had struggled with his weight since he was a child and at one point he had to “be careful what chair [he] would sit on, just in case [he] broke” it.
Describing his weight as “embarrassing”, he revealed he lost five-and-a-half stone in just over six months.
The opera singer, who started his weight loss journey in September 2021, purchased a Peloton bike and a treadmill and started running every day and cutting out some of his favourite foods such as cheese.
While he said he is “still not tiny”, he lost 10 inches off his waist. “I feel amazing,” he said. “I can dress smarter, I can be smarter.
“I mean, if you’re happy being a bigger person, that’s great, that’s fantastic, but for me, it has just made me feel so much better. I feel alive again, and I feel like I can do anything now.”

He also revealed that his weight loss journey had positively impacted his mental health, which he said had deteriorated over the past five or six years.
“I was feeling suicidal, and it was terrible,” he admitted. “I just thought, I’m either going to do something terrible or I need to go and see a proper psychiatrist.”
But after doing therapy sessions and being prescribed medication for his anxiety and depression, he has turned a corner and encouraged others who are going through the same issues to seek help.
Earlier this month Wynne triumphed in the culinary competition.
He became victorious after battling it out in the kitchen against finalists Luca Bish and Amy Walsh.
