Sophie Turner breaks silence after confirming split with Joe Jonas
Sophie Turner is suing estranged husband Joe Jonas in a bid to get their two children back with her in the UK.
The Game of Thrones actress filed a lawsuit in New York today to secure “the immediate return of children wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained.”
In the filing, which was made in a Manhattan court, Sophie claims their daughters’ “wrongful retention” began on Wednesday from “their habitual residence in England.”
The actress says she and the Jonas Brothers star agreed over Christmas 2022 that they would make their “forever home” in England and would begin looking for schools for their older daughter, Willa.
“The parties were both excited for the family’s move to England,” the documents state.

The former couple had started their big movement plans by selling their luxurious Miami estate in April this year.
They had begun renting and were planning to purchase the property before their marriage crumbled.
The documents state that Sophie had been filming TV series Joan nearby, at the same time Joe had started touring with his brothers.
They agreed “with hesitation” to have their daughters travel with Jonas because he had more free time than she did to spend with the kids.
“The children would then at least be able to spend some time during the day with one of their parents until the Mother finished her filming commitments,” the documents explain, noting that this would only be a “temporary arrangement.”
However, their marriage breakdown “happened very suddenly” following an argument on August 15.
Jonas filed for divorce on September 1, with the lawsuit claiming Turner found out four days later “from the media”, rather than being directly told.
“After four years of wonderful marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage. We sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children,” the former couple said in a joint statement following their separation.
The couple, who got married in Las Vegas in 2019, reportedly met up to discuss their split and what would happen with the kids.
At this meeting, it’s alleged that Sophie “reiterated” the plan to move the children to the UK.

With Jonas seemingly not playing ball, she is now accusing him of withholding their passports.
“The Father has possession of the children’s passports,” the documents claim.
“He refuses to return the passports to the Mother and refuses to send the children home to England with the Mother.”
According to the filing, Jonas’ attorney then confirmed on September 19 that he won’t return the passports or consent to the daughters moving to the UK.
This led to the lawsuit, and Turner reportedly also intends to file a smiliar one in the UK here her case would allegedly be a “breach” of her custody rights.
