Strictly: Angela Scanlon impresses Shirley with first dance
Strictly Come Dancing head judge Shirley Ballas hit back after a Twitter user claimed she’d had a “facelift” following her appearance on Saturday night.
Shirley, 63, looked stunning in a hot pink off-the-shoulder gown with her hair swept away from her face and statement silver earrings.
While there were plenty of compliments for the Queen of Latin, one user took to the social media site to query whether she’d had surgery.
Diane asked: “Has Shirley had work done?”
To which D replied: “A face lift, I believe.”

Later in the evening, Shirley clapped back and urged others to “get the facts” before “gossiping”.
She wrote: “Lol for your information no I have not. Hope that clears up your gossip. Always helps to get the facts. Enjoy this beautiful show.”
The user then backtracked and issued an apology to Shirley, writing: “I responded to a question. I had seen news you had surgery, apologies I don’t talk about personal appearances.
“I apologise to you as I would never gossip like that. I love the show and don’t talk about women’s appearances. Hope you have a good series.”

Although Shirley did not go under the knife, it was reported earlier this week that she underwent a non-surgical facelift.
The dancer said: “Contrary to what people think, I’m not the most confident person in the world. Just over a year ago, I was actually getting quite down on myself because of the appearance of my face, I’m being really serious.
“My chin and jawline were sagging, my skin was dull, I had a lot of pigmentation with sun-spots and I had little spider veins on my nose. My face just didn’t sparkle and it really dented my confidence.”
The procedure involved NeoGen nitrogen plasma treatments over one year. The heated nitrogen gas is said to boost collagen and elastin, which rejuvenates the skin.
And the results have clearly paid off as she was also inundated with compliments following the first Strictly Come Dancing live show this year.
Commenting on her Instagram post, Shelley wrote: “Wow wow wow you look stunning in that dress and the colour really suits you.”
And Alan echoed: “WOWZA! Shirley our girl you look absolutely INCREDIBLE! My personal favourite.”
