Police launch appeal to find two missing girls in York

Police launch appeal to find girl, 13, who vanished after leaving for school and her friend, 12, who is thought to be with her

Police have launched an urgent appeal to find two missing girls, after one of them left for school yesterday morning but never arrived.

Chelsea, 13 – also known as Lexi – left for school at 8:30am yesterday, while her friend Lacie, 12, was last seen at around 5:30pm. Both teenagers are from York and it is believed the two may be together.

The girls are believed to have connections to the Tang Hall area of York and officers believe they may be in this area. 

The police have asked for any sightings to be reported by calling 999.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: ‘Chelsea is described as having a slim build with long, curly, ginger hair.

‘She was last seen wearing a school uniform of black trousers, white shirt, black blazer and a light blue tie.

‘Lacie is described as 5ft 2in tall with a slim build and shoulder length dark brown hair. She was last seen wearing grey jogging bottoms and a grey crop top.

‘The girls have had previous connections to the Tang Hall area of York and so may be in this area. 

‘Any immediate sightings of Chelsea or Lacie should be reported to North Yorkshire Police on 999 quoting reference 12230191942.’
